This guide walks you through the PlayGeet music distribution process, from preparing your artwork and music metadata to reviewing and sending your release.

What You'll Need

Before you start, have these items ready:

Step 1: Upload Your Cover Artwork

Start by uploading your release cover artwork.

Your artwork should:

• Be at least 3000 × 3000 pixels.

• Be in JPG or PNG format.

• Use original art, or art you have permission to use.

• Meet PlayGeet and streaming platform artwork rules.

You also need to say whether generative AI was used to create the artwork.

Step 2: Add Your Release Information

Enter the basic details for your release.

Release Title

Enter the official title of your single, EP, or album.

Use the real release name and avoid promo text like:

• OUT NOW

• NEW SONG

• STREAM NOW

• BEST SONG 2026

Do not add your artist name to the release title unless it is truly part of the title.

Artist Name

Enter your artist name exactly as you want it to appear on streaming platforms.

Make sure the spelling and case are right before you submit.

Featured Artist

If your release includes a featured artist, add them in the featured-artist field.

Do not add featured artists to the main artist field unless they are a main artist on the release.

Version

If your recording is a special version, choose or enter the right version label.

Examples include:

• Remix

• Acoustic

• Live

• Radio Edit

• Instrumental

• Extended Mix

Release Type

Select the correct release format:

• Single

• EP

• Album

Choose the format that matches your release.

℗ and © Information

Enter your copyright details carefully.

P-line (℗) shows who owns the sound recording.

C-line (©) shows who owns the copyright in the release content.

Use the right year and rights holder names for your release.

Step 3: Add Your Track

Add the track or tracks in your release.

For each track, include:

• Track title

• Version info, if needed

• Primary artist

• Featured artists

• Audio file

• Songwriter and contributor credits

Upload the final mastered audio file to PlayGeet for each track. Make sure your audio meets the format and quality rules in Audio File Requirements for Music Distribution.

If you are sending an older recording, use the right ISRC when needed.

Step 4: Add Contributors and Splits

Add everyone who helped make your music.

Depending on the release, this may include:

• Songwriters

• Composers

• Producers

• Performers

• Other required contributors

If you use PlayGeet split info, make sure the royalty splits are correct and agreed to by all relevant contributors.

If you are an independent artist, confirm your splits before you submit.

Step 5: Select Your Release Date and Platforms

Choose when you want your release to go live.

Release Date

We recommend scheduling your release at least 2--3 weeks in advance.

This gives enough time for:

Avoid same-day release if your campaign is important.

Select Your Platforms

Choose the streaming and social platforms where you want to release music online.

Step 6: Review Your Release

Before you submit, review every part of your release.

Check that:

• Artwork is at least 3000 × 3000 pixels.

• Release title is correct.

• Artist name is spelled right.

• Featured artists are entered correctly.

• Release type is correct.

• Track titles are correct.

• Audio files uploaded fully.

• Contributors and splits are accurate.

• ℗ and © information is correct.

• Release date is correct.

• Selected platforms are correct.

• Required AI disclosures are done.

Once your release is submitted, changes may need extra processing or an update request.

Step 7: Accept the Terms and Submit

After you review your release, read and accept the PlayGeet distribution terms.

When everything is correct, submit your release for review.

Your release then enters the PlayGeet approval process.

The review process may include:
